turning off the voice
walking through the forest past the oaks and pine, crunching straw, and turning off the voice, seeing only visions of signs when thoughts pass
and I’m starting to learn ASL now and it’s interesting how different their language is to BSL and there are similarities but just like how my native language has evolved so has this and I think it’s great, for instance I prefer the way ASL asks questions, but I do like spelling in BSL more, I find it more fun… since I’m hearing I like to mouth words more and so BSL does that, from what i’ve gathered so far, more than ASL… but I’m just a baby so I’m not sure if I’m right….
also in my head visuals are the most dominant and I like communicating with my hands anyway, so this has been such a wonderful experience//I feel insecure about speaking especially if I’m anxious and I will most of the time jumble words and my speech will quickly deteriorate until I’m able to settle my nervous system
I also think it’ll be funny when I meet someone from the states who is deaf and I start signing in a London accent, and then they’ll think I’m from their and I’m really from a small Florida town. I wonder how country folk sign?
